Just get Eto'o the ball and get out of the way
African teams are always dangerous and Cameroon is no different heading into the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
In Group E with Japan, Netherlands and Denmark, Cameroon makes sense as the No. 2 team to come out of that foursome. You can't ever bet against a team headlined by striker Samuel Eto'o, still one of the deadliest goal-scorers in the world.
There are other familiar names on Cameroon's 30-man preliminary roster including Tottenham's Sebastien Bassong and Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Bassong, the French-born defender, 23, was left out of the team that played in the African Nations Cup earlier this year, but remains in Paul Le Guen's thoughts going into the summer.
Bassong is included alongside Spurs team-mate Benoit Assou-Ekotto as well as Alexandre Song of north London rivals Arsenal.
Teenager Joel Matip will also get his chance to impress, but there is no place for Daniel Ngom Kome, who has been a first-team regular for Tenerife this season. The squad is headlined by star striker Samuel Eto'o.Goalkeepers: Hamidou Souleymanou (Kayserispor), Carlos Kameni (Espanyol), Guy Roland Ndy Assembe (Valenciennes), Amour Patrick Tignyemb (Bloemfontein Celtic)
