Bornstein wake-up plesae

After Bornstein made a horrific challenge tackling a player on the right flank after he was completely beaten - more on him later - Plasil the Czech's slick central midfielder delivered a delicious cross in which Guzan had to tip wide. A good play for the keeper and his biggest test of the day.

Bornstein is playing pretty bad at the moment, and a guy to my left recently pondered "can he play his way off the team?" I think so, his passes have been horrific rarely finding their mark, he gets beaten too easily too often and then fouls like he did moments ago, and he is clearly the weak link in the defense.

That also begs the question though who would be Bocanegra's replacement or cover should he go down with an injury? Maybe Spector or Cherundolo would shift out to the left side. But I have never been a fan of Bornstein with the U.S., he was terribly exposed by the Dutch and doesn't look good tonight.
