This week on Dr. Phil: soccer players that love sloppy seconds

So it looks like cheating with a teammate's WAG (wife and girlfriend) isn't limited to just those across the pond.

Former US men's national team coach Steve Sampson, who might live under a bridge as far as I know these days, unveiled this bombshell today: that John Harkes was stripped of his captaincy and dropped from the team two months before the 1998 World Cup because ol' Harkesy was having an affair with teammate Eric Wynalda's wife.

Why its taken this long to come out is questionable but it would help to explain the fact that the US team lost all three games including 2-1 to Iran and 1-0 to Yugoslavia after advancing to the second round in 1994.

The only question now is what US teammate was boneing another's WAG in 2006? That's the only way to explain their stinkbomb then right? Not just that they had a team-wide collapse on the grandest stage.

I'm thinking maybe Kasey Keller and Brad Freidel.
