Lyon held off the new age galaticos defeating Real Madrid in France, 1-0, in Karim Benzema's first game versus his boyhood club. The return leg will surely be a much more difficult final match, but Lyon did themselves a huge favor not allowing a single away-goal, a very important factor due to the away-goal rule.
