Any thoughts of a miraculous comeback by Australia just went by the wayside since star forward Tim Cahill just received a red for a bad tackle from behind on Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Australian midfielder Carl Valeri also picked up a yellow for the Socceroos, who are coming apart at the seams.
The Germans have had a couple more nice chances but Schwarzer has been level to the challenge.
