Upson gives England some life

Just as I predicted English demise, they prove me wrong. Defender Matthew Upson headed home a cross from Steven Gerrard in the 37th minute.

In the next minute, my boy Lampard chipped one that hit the crossbar and went over the goal line before bouncing out. It all happened so fast and it wasn't that obvious in the run of play so the game continued.

Hopefully England doesn't go down by a score of 2-1 because that goal will live in infamy. It's the latest example of why the World Cup (or soccer in general) needs instant replay in certain situations. When you see that shot, it was well over the line, not even close. Should be a 2-2 game.

2-1 Germany in the 42nd minute.
