some constructive criticism for ESPN's 2010 World Cup coverage

I'm not one to look for things to diss about ESPN, mostly because it's too easy and Deadspin does a much better job at that than I ever would.

However, watching the final Group A matches today I realized that the worldwide leader has made one fatal mistake when they're showing two games at the same time: no score in the upper right corner.

The announcers gave periodic updates but in 2010 that's not going to cut it. I was live blogging the games but even if I wasn't, I don't think it's too much to ask to see the other score constantly.

Have they ever seen the NCAA men's basketball tournament? Half the fun of watching those games is keeping track of how the other games are going: who's getting blown out, who's coming back, etc.

There are three more days of these four matches a day, two at a time, so hopefully some ESPN intern or somebody closer to the broadcast can hear me.

Otherwise, I can't complain too much about ESPN's coverage thus far in South Africa.
