Malouda probably sends Mexico through

It looks like the dream for South Africa is over as they conceded a goal in the 70th minute by Malouda.

They need either two more goals by Uruguay which is unlikely with a goal of their own. Not going to happen.

It's too bad, it would have been cool to see Mexico go home and another African team move on (looks like Ghana is a sure thing).

1-0 Uruguay in the 77th minute, Alvaro Pereira is out for Andres Scotti. Hernandez got a yellow card for elbowing a Uruguay defender before a corner kick.

2-1 South Africa in the 76th minute.

Malouda forces save from Perez

Florent Maluda, French midfielder and a very dependable player from Chelsea almost broke the deadlock.

After the best French passing sequence in this match, he struck the ball high from outside the box and Mexican goalkeeper Oscar Perez tipped it over the crossbar for a corner.

Mexico subbed Juarez out and young stud Javier Hernandez (who just got signed by Man. U) is in.
