The last Coach's Corner before the first match

Obviously the defense was very porous vs. Australia, what can they do tighten that up against England and where do you see the biggest trouble spots back there with Rooney and company attacking them?

Our defense is awful. Gooch is not ready. If he plays, he will be a liability. He can't handle the mobility of Rooney. I think our outside backs must pick and choose the times to go forward. We must stay tight in the back. I think the first goal will be crucial - we can't give it up!!! Cherundolo must be careful!!!

Do you think Ricardo Clark won the starting spot alongside Michael Bradley or do you think Torres or someone else will play there?

Clark did what he was told v Australia....be conservative and cautious. That position will be important because England plays with one forward. Clark will have to take care of the runners from central positions. He can do that and HE MUST STAY HOME in front of the shaky defenders. I prefer Torres. He brings a lot, but DOES HE HAVE THE DISCIPLINE TO SIT IN????? I don't know. Torres will give us a lift off the bench. I think Clark starts.
And while we're talking about formations again, what do you think Bob Bradley will select for a formation and lineup? Does Onyewu play or not? Buddle and Altidore up top or some other different combination? Dempsey definitely outside? How difficult do you feel the pace of England's outside backs Ashley Cole and Ben Johnson will be attacking the U.S. up the flanks?

The big question!!! Buddle and Altidore will be a handful for a weakened English defense. Dempsey and Donovan will help keep the English outside defenders a bit more conservative and might keep them from attacking so much (an aside: if their backs attack it will be an advantage for us. We should be able to counter into the space created by the backs going forward) Bradley will err on the side of defending. In a tournament like this, the first goal is HUGE.

Where is England vulnerable? Can they attack that heart of the Three Lion defense where Ferdinand is out and Terry has been playing so poorly lately or will Capello have them more organized?

Without Ferdinand, England is weak down the middle - that is why Buddle and Altidore should do well (although Bradley loves Findlay). I think the USA will look for counter attacks. LD and CD have the speed to cause all kinds of problems in the back. I am assuming England will have the ball a bit more. That is perfect for the counter!!

Finally your prediction for the match?

USA 2: Three Lions 1
