Uruguay advances with 2-1 win

For the first time since 1970, Uruguay advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals. They're also the first South American team (other than Brazil or Argentina) to get to the quarterfinals since Peru in 1978.

It was a great way to start off the round-of-16, I'm really glad I got up to watch it. The game was fast-paced, offensive and both team had a bunch of chances. South Korea deserved better but Uruguay's top-class finishing by Suarez got them through.

They now await the winner of Ghana/U.S. on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in what should be another great match.

Final stats:

Uruguay South Korea
14(7) Shots (on Goal) 15(4)
12 Fouls 12
3 Corner Kicks 3
1 Offsides 0
40% Time of Possession 60%
0 Yellow Cards 3
0 Red Cards 0
3 Saves 5

What makes Uruguay so dangerous is that they have a stout defense (that's only allowed one goal) but they also have two of the most talented offensive players in Forlan and Suarez.
