Thank you Slovenian scrub for providing bulletin board material

You know the U.S. is starting to get big time when some random bum from Slovenia is saying his tiny country will knock off the Americans on Friday (10 a.m.).

If the U.S. was still a joke, nobody would pay attention to what midfielder Andrej Komac has to say.

Personally, I love shit like this. The fact that it comes from a guy that only came on as a last minute sub in Slovenia's 1-0 win over Algeria makes it that much sweeter.

If Slovenia wins, they'll advance to the round of 16. On the other side, it's basically a must-win for Bob Bradley's team since no doubt England will beat Algeria. Like it or not, the U.S. has usually struggled when they're a favorite but played well as the underdog.

"We are going to win this match," Komac said after practice Tuesday.

He added there's "a good feeling" on the squad after Slovenia beat Algeria 1-0 to claim its first World Cup victory and the top spot in Group C. Komac came on as a substitute in the final minutes.

Komac doesn't expect the U.S. to underestimate his team, given what it's accomplished so far.

"We took three points in the first game. No one looks at us as small anymore," he said. "Now we can only go forward like this, because we are leading the group."

"We are playing our style of football, and we'll continue with that, and we can beat the U.S. with that style," he said.
