South Africa with a juicy cross

South Africa just had their best opportunity of the second half with a cross into the box and Mphela got to it a split second ahead of Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

It looked like Muslera touched it last but it was ruled a goal kick. It's easy to second-guess when we get the slo-mo replays.

On the other end, Uruguay almost connects with a cross and one-timer.

1-0 Uruguay in the 69th minute.

Uruguay's only other World Cup match against an African team was in 2002 when they tied Senegal 3-3. Forlan sscored in that game too.
