Remain calm, all is well

Jozy Altidore is one of those irreplaceable guys for the U.S. The leading scorer during qualification with six goals as a 20-year-old, the Men's National Team simply does not have anyone capable of stepping into his position had been out for any reason.

That's why every collective U.S. fan held his/her breath yesterday when it was announced he had suffered an ankle injury that was serious enough to send him to the hospital Wednesday. However, it appears all fears can be put to rest for now anyway.

MNT teammates Tim Howard and Steve Cherundolo both were quoted as being relaxed over the seriousness of Altidore's injury concern.

"We all hope Jozy will get better. We think he will," Howard said. "We're not losing sleep over it."

"Thankfully, with Jozy, it seems to be just mild," Cherundolo said. "I think he'll be OK in a couple of days."

  1. As an England supporter this news is worrying - Altidore has been impressive over here the past season. Strong, fast, determined... provided he keeps his cool he has the ability to give England's centre-backs a scare, especially now that Rio is out.
