Ghana up 1-0 at the half thanks to this bozo

Here we go again.

After a bad giveaway in the midfield by surprise starter Ricardo Clark, Ghana went up 1-0 in the 5th minute thanks to midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng. It wasn't Tim Howard's finest moment either as he seemed to give to much of the net to Boateng, who would clearly shoot with his left foot to the near post.

Compounding things, Clark picked up a dumb yellow card a few minutes later with a frustration foul and he was pulled in the 31st minute for Maurice Edu.

Sitting Edu, who played so well against Algeria and Slovenia was Bob Bradley's first major mistake thus far.

He also started Robbie Findley up front over Herculez Gomez, who started the last game with Jozy Altidore. I'm not saying that Gomez would have buried it either but Findley had the only real chance by the US in the 35th minute that was kicked away by Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

The U.S. looks tenative and they're lucky to only be down one at the break. Ghana has taken it to them and looks far more confident with the ball on their feet.

American defender Steve Cherundolo also picked up a yellow card, meaning he'd miss their next match (if they have one).

Later in the first half, the U.S. seemed to settle down and the good news is that they have plenty of experience in this World Cup alone of playing from behind so I don't think they'll panic.

They'll need their three biggest offensive stars to do something: Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Altidore. So far only Dempsey of that trio has been involved. Donovan has had no touch so far, giving away a bunch of possesions and Altidore hasn't been involved.

United States Ghana
5(3) Shots (on Goal) 9(4)
5 Fouls 7
1 Corner Kicks 1
1 Offsides 0
44% Time of Possession 56%
2 Yellow Cards 0
0 Red Cards 0
3 Saves 3

The next goal (assuming there is one) is the biggest; either the U.S. is right back in it or Ghana will lock it up.

The second half is about to begin, Findley is out and Benny Feilhaber is going in. That moved worked wonders in the Algeria match since Feilhaber played outstanding and it allows Dempsey to get forward more.
